BIll 5 destroys more of our necessary environmental protections for all species. It enacts more of a human only perspective that even if brought about will do nothing to help anyone in Ontario except a very few friends of Doug Fords. Read more

As a resident of Lambton Shores, ON, home to many endangered species of plants and animals, I find this absolutely disgusting. You should be be ashamed of yourselves. This should be a crime. Read more

This proposed change is a travesty. It's appalling and dismissive of the importance of environmental and species protection. It puts the greed of people over the protection of our planet - a world that is quickly crumbling before our eyes. Read more

I disagree with this. Allowing the government to choose which species to remove is concerning, as is some of the soft language around “intends to give x amount of funding” Read more

Ontario’s shift to a “registration first” model is sold as a way to speed up approvals and cut red tape for housing, transit, and other projects by letting proponents begin work as soon as they register online. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5 and the gutting of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. This is not conservation — it’s a license to destroy critical habitats and silence science in favor of unchecked development. Read more

Strong NO. This is a terrible bill and as an Ontarian I hope you rethink your approach to our environment and do better going forward. I will be writing to my MPP on this matter as well. Read more

Letting developers register online and start right away will speed up projects like housing and transit. But swapping careful science checks for a quick checklist makes it easier to harm endangered plants and animals. Read more

I feel strongly that the Endangered Species Act remain intact. You must understand the consequences of such changes - these species, our natural world, cannot recover from our continuous expansion. Read more

Hard pass. This is terrible legislation. Here is my assessment: Your proposal to replace the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) with the new Species Conservation Act, 2025 (SCA) introduces significant changes that, overall, weaken protections for wildlife in the province. Read more

Our endangered bird species and their ecosystems are integral to the biodiversity in Ontario. This threat is a threat to our home, our nature, our wildlife, our way of life, and our communities. Stop this bill immediately.

The Ontario government's proposal to weaken species-at-risk protections is deeply alarming and will remove safeguards for critical habitats in favour of short-term development gains. Once removed from the landscape, these habitats and the populations they support cannot be replaced. Read more

This bill will not speed up the process and will instead only dismantle it. It is very obvious that this administration only cares for the profits of the few rather than the environment for the many.
