I absolutely oppose this bill. The government should not be the deciding body in what is considered an endangered animal. Climate crisis and the destruction of Canada's endangered species will only worsen with attempts like this to erode and repeal the ESA.

We saw during the pandemic how much influence we have over the environment, how much damage we do. The Venice canals were clear. Yet, we continue to place the value of commerce over maintaining our green space and protecting our wildlife. Sad how quickly we forget.

This is short sighted and will cause species to go extinct in Ontario. Short sighted policy that allows development where it should not be. Build our homes and roads away from endangered species habitat.

This legislation removes critical protections for endangered species and species at risk. Allowing individuals to register in order to harm species is a significant removal of protections. The new proposed definition of habitat is too narrow. Read more

I am strongly opposed to eliminating Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. This legislation has been critical in protecting not just individual nests, but the broader habitats that endangered and threatened birds rely on to survive and recover. Read more

This will have unprecedented and irreversible consequences if passed. Nobody needs a highway to save 30seconds of time and it is definitely not worth destroying habits and killing off so many species. This is a project of pure greed and should not be allowed . Read more
