I oppose the changes outlined in this act, and I think that it makes it entirely too easy for corporations to get around the protections that are in place for endangered species and the environment as a whole. Read more

Please cancel this bill and do not proceed with overriding the protections that our existing legislation affords our environmental concerns. We need to look after not only the present, but the future too.

The proposed changes to Ontario's Endangered Species Act would do nothing more than legitimize Ontario's already dismal track record of failing to protect endangered species. Read more

Shame on the Ontario government for proposing such a careless, irresponsible bill. We need stronger protections for wildlife and our environment, not weaker ones. Read more

I strongly oppose Ontario’s Bill 5. Repealing the Endangered Species Act is a reckless move that puts vulnerable species and ecosystems at risk for the sake of short-term economic gains. Read more

This change worries me. It ultimately puts economic growth and development above preserving our slowly diminishing habitats and species. Being able to fast track development before obtaining permits sounds like there is lots of room for development companies to 'make mistakes' and brake rules. Read more

As a citizen of Ontario, a mother of a young child, and a nature lover, I have the proposed elimination of the Endangered Species Act (replacing with the Species Conservation Act - a deceptively positive change of name, given the content of the proposed changes). Read more
