I don’t want the environmental protections to be taken away. The province and ourvcountry are doing enough damage to the environment while following the rules, it will definitely get worse if they are removed. Environmental protections have been around for years for a good reason.

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in the Ontario Conservative Government for putting forward this bill. Ontario is home to over 200 endangered species, and is also the ancestral home of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Cree, Algonquin, and other indigenoud peoples.

I am a registered nurse living in Ontario in the Hamilton area. Supporting and protecting our beautiful country’s wildlife life is important to me as someone who spends their free time outdoors and appreciates the intricate ecosystems and biodiversity in the area.

Totally pathetic to not protect these creatures, we already are short on habitat for these animals etc. due to building in areas they live, invasive species and plants brought into this country that should not be here, the building of roads through green spaces, forest fires etc.

I'm very concerned about the proposed changes to the Endangered species act. We should be avoiding urban sprawl. The idea that developers would support voluntary initiatives like habitat restoration that protecting and conserving species is unrealistic and highly unlikely to happen.

This will completely eliminate protections for species at risk in the province to allow development to go through. The new definition of habitat will not allow for proper protection of species or their critical habitat. Have these changes been discussed with the science community?

Absolutely disgusting and wrong. You need to understand you keep removing spaces for animals it will cause more issues and should be held accountable for the greed and destruction that will trickle down the chain of nature, upset the balance and destroy nature.

I strongly believe that the HABITAT of a wild animal must include the area the animal needs to find FOOD. There are wild animals that travel every day for miles and miles like the polar bear, the caribou, the wolves, the coyotes, etc. They need those areas for their survival.

No offence to the conservative government but your track record pretty much ensures that this is a shady process intended to undermine environmental protections, create more sprawl, add more highways, and destroy more habitat.

Stop the bulldozer! Another evil proposal by Doug Ford meant to hide more evil proposals. Please ensure the longevity of our nations species by keeping the Endangeres Species Act alive.
Have we now hit a point in the destruction of our world where the ONLY concern is human life and for a specific subset of that life to become wealthy beyond measure? A point where our provincial government seeks to appoint themselves the emperors of our natural world?

The protection and conservation of species at risk is the responsibility of every citizen of the planet. This is infinitely more important than delays and costs for housing, transit, and critical infrastructure.

There is no need to delete the endangered species act.
Some species need protection.
Find suitable areas for development that don’t impact endangered wildlife.

As a biologist and former environmental consultant and passionate birder, naturalist, and overall lover of nature, I strongly oppose the "Proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and a proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025", as outlined in ERO Number 025-0380.
