I don’t want the environmental protections to be taken away. The province and ourvcountry are doing enough damage to the environment while following the rules, it will definitely get worse if they are removed. Environmental protections have been around for years for a good reason. Read more

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in the Ontario Conservative Government for putting forward this bill. Ontario is home to over 200 endangered species, and is also the ancestral home of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Cree, Algonquin, and other indigenoud peoples. Read more

I'm very concerned about the proposed changes to the Endangered species act. We should be avoiding urban sprawl. The idea that developers would support voluntary initiatives like habitat restoration that protecting and conserving species is unrealistic and highly unlikely to happen. Read more

This will completely eliminate protections for species at risk in the province to allow development to go through. The new definition of habitat will not allow for proper protection of species or their critical habitat. Have these changes been discussed with the science community? Read more

I strongly believe that the HABITAT of a wild animal must include the area the animal needs to find FOOD. There are wild animals that travel every day for miles and miles like the polar bear, the caribou, the wolves, the coyotes, etc. They need those areas for their survival. Read more

No offence to the conservative government but your track record pretty much ensures that this is a shady process intended to undermine environmental protections, create more sprawl, add more highways, and destroy more habitat. Read more

Have we now hit a point in the destruction of our world where the ONLY concern is human life and for a specific subset of that life to become wealthy beyond measure? A point where our provincial government seeks to appoint themselves the emperors of our natural world? Read more

The protection and conservation of species at risk is the responsibility of every citizen of the planet. This is infinitely more important than delays and costs for housing, transit, and critical infrastructure. Read more

As a biologist and former environmental consultant and passionate birder, naturalist, and overall lover of nature, I strongly oppose the "Proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and a proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025", as outlined in ERO Number 025-0380. Read more
