This is just to have carte blanche for private developers. How many developments already built on marshes etc after being filled in. We need to actually protect species, and therefore areas of Ontario for our future water supply, air quality, diversity etc etc. Stop selling off Ontario

This proposal puts more species and habitat at risk, while once again making it easier for developers to "plow ahead" with projects as long as they register. I oppose this proposal. Projects must continue to require permits approved by the ministry. Read more

I object to the proposed changes. I believe they are short sighted and that they will not protect endangered species or their habitats which are important for species to thrive. Please do not pass proposed legislation. Read more

After many years of watching Doug Ford, I have no trust in his government. Whatever is in this new legislation will NOT help our environment or our province. I do not support this change.

I oppose this bill in its entirety. We are at a crossroads with climate change and habitat loss for wild animals, trees and plants. This bill is irresponsible and reprehensible. Read more

Please reconsider, as I believe this new legislation weakens habitat protections and clears the way for development in sensitive areas. This is a complete abandonment of Ontario’s DUTY to protect species at risk. Know better, do better. Read more

Please protect ESA. We need to protect our wildlife and their habitats. Ford's corrupt government does not care about the environment - only making money for his developer buddies. This is NOT good for the people or the environment. The federal government has housing plans coming up. Read more

All of the changes being proposed here will offer less protection to ecosystems, not more. I don't want any of these changes to go through, and I am against dismantling the Endangered Species Act. Read more

I am strongly against the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and the proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025. The redefinition of "habitat" is unscientific. It ignores the fact that animals may move large distances for feeding, breeding, or other activities. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5. The bill's proposed changes will weaken protections for species at risk in Ontario, jeopardizing the survival of vulnerable species. I want my children to be able to grow up and live in the Ontario I grew up in. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5, especially the removal of the Environmental Assessment for the proposed Dresden landfill. This site is near the Sydenham River, home to over 33 species at risk, including Canada’s only known population of the Salamander Mussel. Read more
