The current practices to protect endangered species are complex because nature is complex. This proposed legislation will not protect these species! In a time of global climate crisis, we should be strengthening the ways we protect the environment and, by extension, ourselves.

I’m very concerned about the proposal to repeal Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. This law helps protect animals and habitats that are already at risk, and replacing it with something weaker could cause real harm. Read more

Frankly, these amendments could not be more dismissive of the environment, local animals and plant life, endangered species and even human health (as our health depends directly on the health of the environment that surround us). Read more

The whole point of a Species at Risk Act is to PROTECT those species. It SHOULD make bulldozing over habitat more difficult because it should not be easy to destroy the remaining wild places we do have, especially near populated areas. Read more

I do not agree with Bill 5 or the changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007! This will destroy countless animal habitats, and what do you think happens when animal habitats are destroyed? They are forced to move into neighbourhoods to live and feed. Read more

Another dumb proposal form our dumb government. Taking away the "endangered species act" as we know it, will kill off these animals. These animals were here long before humans. They have survived for decades upon decades. Read more

I live in Toronto and do not support this change to legislation. This legislation would remove habitat protections and would completely trample Indigenous rights and sovereignty. Read more

As a resident of Ontario that cares about our wildlife and the continued preservation of species and biodiversity, I am against this action. I believe as much protection as possible should be afforded to biodiversity in Ontario. Read more

I highly oppose this bill, and anyone who cares about their future would too. No amount of money Doug Ford could generate from this bill going into effect would be worth the further destruction of Earth. Our only home is Earth. Read more
