I strongly oppose Bill 5. This bill scraps some of the most important steps in managing endangered species. By removing the “long process to get permits” you are skipping necessary steps to protect the species. This bill does not put species first. Read more

I strongly oppose this bill, it gives sweeping powers to the government and developers to ignore the expertise of environmental and conservation experts, and ignores laws designed to protect the environment and indigenous rights. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5: the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act and its dangerous proposals, including the creation of Special Economic Zones, the weakening of Ontario’s endangered species protections, and the exemption of the Eagle’s Nest mine from an environmental review. Read more

Replacing enforceable habitat laws with voluntary measures shifts responsibility away from government and onto private landowners, creating dangerous gaps in species protection. Our most vulnerable species cannot afford this. Read more

Under no circumstances should Premiere Ford be able to give the green light to developers to bulldoze protected wildlife spaces. Bill 5 is a slap in the face to Mother Earth and our beautiful Ontario wildlife that deserves our protection.

The proposal to gut the Endangered Species Act and replace it with a toothless replacement is an appalling waste of taxpayer money and an enormous risk to our province. Read more

This bill is a terrible idea. Don’t mortgage the future of our nation for financial convenience. In a world with an ever-shrinking green space, we need to protect, not destroy.

Our Endangered Species Act is already falling short in enforceability and information. Changing it now would be absolutely devastating for environmental protections and progress in Ontario. Read more

I’m an Ontarian young adult who has spend my entire childhood and adult life enjoying provincial and national parks, greenbelts, and crown land. The appreciation for nature, the ecosystem, and the ability to unplug has made me the leader and advocate for getting kids outside as I am today. Read more

This is a ghastly display of governmental abuse. No one who supports science, human rights, or the long term wellbeing of the country would back this. Doug Ford may never face the consequences of his pig-like greed but that does not mean generations of children should instead.

I am against Bill 5 . Natural habitats need to be protected . Our environment sustains our life on earth. Ease of business and development does not take precedent over nature. We need to think long term. Read more
