Completing the full activities in the Environmental Assessment Act are essential for making an informed decision regarding Hwy. 413. There should be no exemptions on activities for the sake of speeding construction at the expense of nature and the communities that will be impacted. Lire davantage

I do not support exempting Highway 413 from the Environmental Assessment Act. Ontario was a leader in environmental protection when it first introduced the Environmental Assessment Act in 1975, 20 years before the federal government introduced the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. The Environmental Assessment Act exists for a reason. Exempting the obviously damaging 413 is either the wildly negligent work of a bunch of complete idiots, or the malicious work of a criminal. Which does this government aspire to be? Lire davantage

This is a very short-sighted policy. In today's age of accelerating climate change we need stricter environmental regulations and protections rather than less. We need less highways and greater investments in public transport. I do NOT support this act. Lire davantage

Environmental concerns need to be a top priority for this project. The province should absolutely avoid skipping over any steps in the environmental assessment process for this already environmentally detrimental project.

How could you possibly want to exempt ANY major infrastructure project from meeting environmental assessments? I mean, I am honestly gobsmacked by the lack of forward thinking and the blatant disregard for our environment in an effort to push through a highway that we don't need. Lire davantage

I am writing today to express my concern about the decision to exempt Highway 413 from the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA). This bypasses critical environmental protections that are essential for the well-being of both people and the land. Lire davantage

I have grave concerns about this proposal to fast track the building of another highway through a critical greenbelt north of Toronto. The priority to build highways faster needs to shift to improve public transportation options - trains, buses, bike lanes, car shares, not building more highways. Lire davantage

Exempting this highway from environmental regulations? We don’t need a highway that parallels the 407 and cuts right through the Oak Ridges Moraine, creates flooding by putting rivers into pipes, destroys trees, and increases emissions with more traffic. Please do not build this highway.

This is a terrible bill proposal. Environmental assessments are an important checkpoint for governments and developers to ensure that creation of new infrastructure is done in a safe manner that does not ruin our local ecosystems and future health. Lire davantage

Please do not proceed with the early works until we can do a full economic benefit review. I'm very skeptical that the economic benefits of this project will outweigh the costs, and I don't want our tax dollars spent so frivolously.

Why is this proposal seeking exemption from the Environmental Assessment Act? The proposal states that by 2031, there will be about 1.5 million more trips by car and trucks each day. Why not put this money towards expansion of LRT? Lire davantage

It has to be said that this will go down as one of the most monumentally disastrous, wasteful projects ever indulged by a government. If the Conservative Party wishes to live up to their "Progressive" moniker, they urgently need to rethink Highway 413. Lire davantage
