The Proposal Details have no mention what-so-ever of any infrastructure upgrades or support to the Town for such upgrades. The corner of Trafalgar and Cross is currently completely gridlocked when a GO train arrives. Lire davantage

There is no question that development and intensification should occur around mass transit. But the proposed density is irresponsible, will destruct municipal infrastructure, and offers no value to the existing or future community. This has been demonstrated time and time again. Lire davantage

These MZOs would force extreme and reckless density on Midtown, more than double that of any comparable development in the GTA, without the infrastructure to support it; creating chaos and overwhelming transportation and services that are already overstressed, including local roads, transit, the GO Lire davantage

These MZOs represent a profound override of local democracy despite Oakville’s full compliance with provincial policies and proven track record of growth and housing development. Lire davantage

The Ontario government appears to not just be tone deaf on this issue, but completely deaf. The opposition to this initiative in Oakville is large and growing. It simply makes no sense, and the rationale provided is paltry. Lire davantage

The density proposed by the Midtown TOC can’t be absorbed. The proposed density exceeds HongKong and Manhattan levels! Oakville’s OPA reflects appropriate levels of planning of amenities for families, and integrated infrastructure. Lire davantage

I am against the proposed Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) as it fails to comply with Premier Ford’s Build Homes Faster agenda and will not deliver a single home before 2031, the Province’s own housing deadline. It will, in fact, take 25 years to complete. Lire davantage

The proposed Minister’s Zoning Orders (MZOs) for Midtown Oakville blatantly fail to meet the Ontario government’s own post criteria for issuing MZOs. Lire davantage

This MZO is incredibly aggressive, pushing for housing development at a rapid and unsustainable implementation rate that risks straining infrastructure on Trafalgar Road and the QEW along with undermining Oakville’s character. Lire davantage
