The province's definition of affordable should stay aligned with those of our municipal and federal governments ie up to 30% of a household's gross income Lire davantage

Your changes to the definition of affordable housing will make housing absolutely more inaccessible to many. For a government that claims to be looking out for the best interests of Ontarian's and is looking for solutions to a critical housing crisis, this seems completely counterproductive. Lire davantage

The proposal as it stands will increase inequity for those with household incomes below that 60th percentile benchmark. A fair and accessible rental housing plan would set the amount at a MAXIMUM of 30% of household income and provide for even lower rates for the more marginalized. Lire davantage

This is not a fair process and define municipality. So the 60th percentile in Toronto, so you are putting neighbourhoods like Parkdale and St. Jamestown in the same category as Rosedale or Yorkville? Lire davantage

I believe the current government has shown that they have little understanding of what the average Ontarian has to cope with regarding housing. Keep the current definition of affordable and engage real experts in resolving housing issues not developers.

I oppose any changes to the definition of affordable residential unit!! Your proposed change will make it even more difficult for people to afford their rent. You need to make life easier for the people who elected you not more difficult!

Regarding ERO number 019-7669, I object to the proposed change to the definition of "affordable rental unit." Basing the assessment on "the 60th percentile of gross annual incomes for renter households in the applicable local municipality" seems to be raising the assessment from the current 30 perc Lire davantage

I am opposed to any changes to the definition of AFFORDABLE RENTAL UNIT. Ford should be making housing more affordable and not less affordable.

Don’t change the measurement. 30% of household income is appropriate. If any change is to be made it should be closer to 20-25% of household income.

We need affordable housing for the lowest earners. Changing this helps higher income people and leaves the most vulnerable at risk of being homeless. Look into the cost of people being homeless on all levels of government. Lire davantage

Changing the definition of affordable rent from 30% of household income to 30% of the 60th percentile of gross annual income for the municipality will not make rent more affordable. Lire davantage

I object to this in the strongest terms. This will transparently reduce affordable housing, at a time when we need it most. The Ford government is shameless in its pandering to the wealthy and corporations. Lire davantage
