Beachfront properties are not going to solve the housing crisis. Do not develop on Wasaga Beach. Leave the habitat in tact and natural for the piping plover and other fauna and flora, plants and animals, please. Thank you!

I support this decision b/c it is important that tourism is handled by a ministry where tourism is a priority. The current level of support has seen this important asset of Wasaga Beach fall into disrepair, which is unacceptable. Lire davantage

I fully support the transfer of the historical site of Nancy Island in Wasaga Beach to the Ministry of Tourism. The current condition of this site is in ruin. Ontario must support the retention of our Canadian historical landmarks and showcase their importance for our citizens and visitors. Lire davantage

If the town is to take over these beach areas in wasaga it must be included in the agreement that there will be no residential building on the beaches or any residential building that cuts off easy and frequent access to the beach . Thanks

Thank you for providing an opportunity for public comment. In regards to the transfer of responsibility for Nancy Island, I am concerned that a historic site will be treated as a potential tourist attraction excluding its role as a purveyor of local historical information. Lire davantage

I think transferring the ownership to the town of Wasaga Beach is a bad idea. The town will only have their best interest at hand and not the beach. This has been looked after by the province for ever and they have kept it natural. Who knows what the township will end up doing. Lire davantage

Another terrible, short-sighted environmental proposal from this government. The importance of this site to the Piping Plover, an ENDANGERED species, cannot be overstated. Lire davantage

I believe the province should NOT transfer ownership of Beach Areas One and Two to Wasaga Beach.

This is disgraceful. Rare species deserve protection. We have enough cottages, which are mostly owned by the elite anyway. What about parks and natural spaces for species, and those of us that haven't inherited exclusive shoreline properties?

I agree to the transfer of beach area 1 and 2 with a caveat that the town can NEVER restrict the public from enjoying the beach. This includes the access to the sand and the water. Lire davantage

This proposal will greatly compromise and endanger the success of Piping Plovers as a species. Please put aside your love of money for one moment. These animals are REAL. Lire davantage

The Mayor of Wasaga Beach has already tried this in his previous administration and merely used the beach for concerts while burdening the taxpayer with both the cost to police the beach and the maintenance. Lire davantage

I'm very disappointed to hear that the sale of the beach areas of Allenwood, New Wasaga, Beach Area 1 and Beach Area 2 by the Province to the Town of Wasaga Beach is even being considered. Lire davantage

Will the province still be supporting financially? Wasaga has 25,000 people. Can our municipal tax dollars support this without major increases in municipal tax? Lire davantage

The change in responsibility for the beaches MUST come with the requirement to keep not only the beach area, but significant amounts of access point areas Public. Last year, walking access roads to local beaches that had been used by the public for years became marked as Private. Lire davantage

No...the town of wasaga beach should not be aloud to take over the beach area ...the town gave up the right years ago when they didn't want to pay for the expense of upkeep... Natural resource took it over I was young so I am not sure if there was a choice by the residents ... Lire davantage

Should not give the beaches to the township. They want to make money on tourism and are not concerned about of Ontario residents rights to use the best beach front in Canada. This will end up a place where low income and medium income can not afford It will be a play ground for the rich. Lire davantage

Please don't give this to the Town. They have increased our taxes over 15 percent in two years mismanaging the budget. The province should oversee the beach. Lire davantage
