This proposal to sell the protected areas to the Town of Wasaga would be awful. Lire davantage

We are in a climate crisis. David Suzuki has already said we are too late. This kind of action is appalling. We cannot lose any more of our natural wild lands. We don’t need more cottages and tourism in Wasaga Beach, but we do need our critically endangered piping plovers who nest there. Lire davantage

I oppose this change to the conservation act and this development, and question how you can support and protect the natural heritage of an area by destroying what’s natural about it. This is an outrageous proposition and should not go forward. Lire davantage

I am voicing my disapproval of this ammendment. As a frequent visitor of Wasaga Beach, I believe that there is more than enough space allocated for beachgoers who basically have the entire length of the beach for activities. Lire davantage

Protect the Piping Plover! I support the bill aiding them and condemn the bill trying to take over their nesting area

This will cause the destruction and degradation of important piping plover habitat at wasaga beach region. These birds are endangered in ontario with so few nests and this is one of the most important nest sites. Let the plovers live, they don't deserve this. Lire davantage

The section of the park from Spruce Street to the mouth of the Nottawasaga River should remain public park and parking. It should never be developed. All the existing public arkland and parking at beach 2 should be retained as it is with no development. Lire davantage

I am concerned about this. I feel public access and protection of this land and shoreline is better protected as Provincial Park vs Town of Wasaga Beach. What standards would the Town be held to to protect and maintain the ecology, public access, etc? Lire davantage

Beach areas1& 2 should remain under Provincial jurisdiction. That way the care and patrol of the beaches is under one organization. The province does a great job of looking after the whole beach. Lire davantage

I'm a biologist and visitor of Wasaga Beach. I'm deeply concerned about the proposed transfer of a portion of Wasaga Beach's shoreline to the municipality. This area includes critical Piping Plover nesting habitat, which has been monitored since these birds reestablished a population in 2008. Lire davantage

I am a long time resident of Wasaga Beach, 64 years. Regarding the transfer of Nancy Island Historical Site to the Ministry of Tourism. I think this will be productive, supporting the history of the war of 1812 and the sinking of the Nancy. Lire davantage

Under no circumstances should any portion of Beaches 1,2, New Wasaga or Allenwood be sold to the town of Wasaga Beach. Doing so would expose said lands to total privatization/sale as part of the imbecilic redevelopment plan Wasaga Beach is ramming through. Lire davantage

Humans are everywhere these days. We can live in other places, we don't need to develop every shoreline. Keep these beaches for the wildlife. We must make spaces for them.

Keep Beach Areas 1 and 2 with the Province so Wasaga does not build houses on the beach. Please keep it public without development. Lire davantage

I feel turning the land over to the town of Wasaga Beach is not in the best interest of the Piping Plover. Wasaga Beach has let it be known they will not be protecting the species in its last refuge.

This area contains critical habitat for piping plovers. Development is not more important than biodiversity, which sustains us all.
