This is a terrible idea! Ontario is not for sale and the people of Ontario should have access to all the provincial parks. I am against this proposal and encourage the environmental registry and Ontario Govt (looking at you, Doug Ford) to not sell any part of publicly accessible parks.

I, like many others, am concerned about the lack of commitment to the plovers and other nature in this transaction. Once this resource is taken away it can never be returned. Please reconsider the terms of this agreement to include conservation of the land. Heather Lire davantage

I see no reason to transfer the parklands in Wasaga Beach to the Ministry of Tourism or the town of Wasaga Beach in order to improve and integrate Nancy Island and the natural beach areas. Lire davantage

It is painfully obvious that this plan has no intention of protecting the environment. In its essence, tourism will only kill off endangered species as well as isolate Canadian citizens from our own land. You are clearly prioritizing outsiders over your own people. Lire davantage

This is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. The provincial parks are there to protect the land from exactly what you’re proposing so that they’re there for our children and our children’s children. Lire davantage

I understand the need and desire to expand however I think giving up park land along the waterfront to build condos, luxury hotels and private homes is not the answer. Wasaga Beach, South Georgian Bay and the province of Ontario in general needs more affordable housing. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed legislative amendments to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006 (PPCRA), and the Historical Parks Act, which would enable the Town of Wasaga Beach’s “Tourism Enhancement Proposal.” Although these amendments might seem we Lire davantage

Please reconsider and reduce the scope of this plan. Ontario Parks has a strong mandate, and transferring these lands may remove that protection away from the flora and fauna that use this area. Lire davantage

We live in Wasaga Beach on the shore and were delighted when the Piping Plovers returned down near the point. We have been volunteer guardians in the past. Since 2008 87 plover chicks have fledged from Wasaga Beach. Lire davantage

We need to protect our Provincial Parks. There is no guarantee that Wasaga township will correctly divert funds to protect this habitat. Please do not ruin yet another protected environment. Lire davantage

Wasaga beach is the MOST important nesting habitat within Ontario for the endangered Piping Plover. This sale further endangers them and their habitat. I do NOT think this is a good idea - especially with Bill 5 passing recently, yet another threat to them. Lire davantage

This proposal from the Ontario government endangers the Piping Plover birds that have successfully nested at Wasaga Beach for 16 consecutive years. If this proposal is passed the development and increased human activity would disturb nesting areas and threaten the species’ fragile recovery. Lire davantage

I am so disappointed that this is even being considered. We need more environmental protection, not less. Wasaga beach already has plenty of tourism and tourist spots. We must protect what we have left, or noone will come and visit and we destroy precious ecological resources for profit. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed legislative amendments outlined in ERO 025-0694, which would strip Nancy Island (2.91 ha) and portions of Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga, and Allenwood Beach from Provincial Parks and either transfer or sell them for tourism development. I am disgusted and discouraged with this PC government’s constant catering to developers and do not support carving up provincial parks. Hands off!

I vehemently oppose this proposal, I reeks of yet more corruption in the premier's office - is there nothing Ford won't give away for his wealthy developer friends to make a buck off the taxpayer? You should all be ashamed.

This amendment should NOT happen. Ford’s Bill 5 is an abuse of power and no municipality or corporation should take advantage of this. PLEASE do not do this. Do the right thing.
