Hello. I am a resident of Sudbury. I am writing to oppose the proposed changes and development of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. I love our province and our parks. I feel we need more protected parks, not fewer. Lire davantage

I am against the removal/transfer/sale of this public land. It should remain as protected land, publicly owned. These public lands are necessary to ensure biodiversity, wildlife corridors, water percolation, and natural beauty. There is no need or advantage to the public to remove/transfer them. The citizens of Ontario pay for the provincial parks and the premier has no business re-writing the legislation to take what's owned by us, never mind give it to private interests. The legislators are elected (and paid) to protect our interests. Lire davantage

I have lived in wasaga Beach for many years. I often make use of the ontario parks and walk the beach daily. I do not want the province to turn over the park to the town. I am not interested in taxpayers dollars creating something that will not flourish. Lire davantage

Prioritizing developing wasaga beach more is a terrible idea. Wasaga beach andall our provincial parks, conservation areas and historic parks need to be protected NOT developed. Lire davantage

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park serves as a place for families and friends to gather. It’s a place for the public to build community. Removal of all of Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach, will heavily impact the community and those who come in to support the town and tourism.

Your proposed changes to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act would not only jeopardize the Piping Plovers at Wasaga Beach but would open the door to privatizing all Ontario parks. Lire davantage

Instead of whittling away at our provincial parks and other protected green spaces to transfer them to developers, I would feel much more secure about our collective future if you focused your efforts on more equitable, efficient, and environmentally friendly developments, in function of what we kno Lire davantage

As a long time resident of Wasaga Beach. I find this proposal disgusting. I understand there's a housing crisis, but in reality it's more of an affordability crisis. Lire davantage

Leave the Provincial Park the way it is. It is beautiful as is. Do not succumb to the monetary greed of the Town of Wasaga Beach and developers. People come to Wasaga Beach for the beautiful fresh water beach; not for commercialism on the beach. AGAIN, LEAVE THE BEACH FRONT AS IS. Lire davantage

Legislation that erodes and eradicates Ontario parkland turns ‘development’ into a dirty word.

I am against the sale of Wasaga Beach to the town. They will allow large developers to ruin the public access and experience. Please reconsider

Horrifying. Another example of short-sighted pursuit of money at the expense of our environment.

I strongly oppose selling provincial parkland for development. The Wasaga Beach proposal is especially objectionable because of the presence of the endangered Piping Plover on proposed development lands. Lire davantage

The land proposed for sale includes critical nesting habitat for the Piping Plover. Please consider the broader effects of developing this land for interests that ignore interconnected environmental systems and the long-term consequences destruction of those systems would bring about.

Removing any part of Wasaga Provincial park sets, or counties, a very dangerous precedent. Please don’t allow this to happen. We cannot afford to remove sensitive protected land for short/term profit
