Not a fan of this at all. Why not turn it into a nature preserve, hiking trails, and learning center? Why does every development have to be shopping, retail and “entertainment”. Then people will chip away other provincial parks, a few hectares here and there, until it’s gone. What a shame. Lire davantage

Stop destroying the Earth for personal gain as we, the people, are part of the Earth and the destruction will include everything, ultimately, including us. Profit-taking for it's own sake is a toxic reification that affects everyone.

Really? These proposed changes are ludicrous. I spent my career protecting Crown resources and, I'll tell you, municipalities are among the worst offenders. Lire davantage

This is a terrible move. It's inconsiderate of the Ford government to take away public park lands that are part of what make Wasaga Beach what it is, especially since these lands are meant to be protected in the first place. Lire davantage

The amendments will lead to short-term financial gain for a small group of people to the detriment of the rest of the province population. Parks are supposed to preserve special places in the province for the long term. The amendments are one step against that. I'm opposed to the amendments.

Where is the proper environmental assessment. Wasaga beach should be a provincial park and be protected and cherished. What happens to all the wild life living there? How will this affect for generations to come. Lire davantage

1. There is confusion about whether the proposed lands are being transferred from the Province to the Town or purchased. There needs to be clarification on this. Lire davantage

1. If the land is purchased, where are the funds coming from to purchase all of this land and what is the true cost? It has reported that these lands are worth $80 million. Lire davantage

What the actual hell? Leave our provincial parks alone, can we not have a single scrap of our green spaces left to be green? Or are we actually just okay with selling off all our protected lands to help cronies make a buck.

I am strongly opposed to the proposal. While I understand the desire to add amenities that could support the tourism industry in Wasaga Beach, the answer is not to take land already designated as a provincial park. Lire davantage

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park isn’t just a summer destination, it’s one of the last remaining nesting grounds for the endangered Piping Plover in Ontario. These tiny shorebirds have made a fragile comeback since 2007, thanks to years of careful stewardship and protection. Now, all that is at risk. Lire davantage

Firmly disapprove of this - another example of our government selling off Ontarians' land to developers. What's next, a mega spa on Wasaga beach?

Selling off nearly one‑seventh of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to developers is environmental vandalism. This land is public green space—home to endangered piping plover habitat, mature dunes, wetlands, and flood-buffering ecosystems. Lire davantage

I am opposed to the Ontario government's proposal to remove 645 acres of the beaches and an island in Ontario’s most-visited Provincial Park and turning them over to development. This represents almost one seventh of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Lire davantage

Privatizing waterfront is never in the public good. This is a license to create elite complexes that exclude the taxpayer and cause even greater stress on existing beach accesses. This is a provincial park. It was created for the public good. It was not intended for private profit. Lire davantage

Please do not give any land currently designated as a Provincial Park to the Town of Wasaga Beach. This land was expropriated in 1959 to create public space so the ordinary people who cannot afford waterfront property could access the longest freshwater beach in the world. Lire davantage

I'm tired of money grabs. We need to protect natural spaces and build sustainability, not line our pockets.
