Reduce the Size of the Proposed Region – The proposed Lake Erie Regional Conservation Authority — covering 8 conservation authorities and 81 municipalities — is much too large to remain responsive and effective.

Reducing locally specific and specialized voices that advocate for the watershed is irresponsible to say the least.
Removing this localized voice and contribution to natural watersheds could be at minimum catastrophic

Watershed protection is extremely important for Ontario's ecological health, safety, erosion, and flood prevention. I feel that these protections need to remain managed within the local area.

I strongly urge the province to keep conservation authorities operating on a local basis. Conservation authorities are integral to their local communities and experts in their immediate areas and natural resources.
I am opposed to the proposal to consolidate our 36 Conservation Authorities into 7 CAs, which will cover such large areas of the province.

Local Conservation Authorities are essential in protecting, monitoring, and bettering the local watersheds, habitats, wetlands, and conservation lands, as well as inspiring generations to protect and study the incredible lands they live in and are surrounded by.

Local authorities should retain power on local issues and resources. The current provincial government has consistently shown dedication only to development and their own retention of power, not conservation.
There appears to be no change in jurisdiction proposed for Toronto and Region Conservation Area (TRCA) in the proposal and no other CA’s will be amalgamated with it.
