I am a resident of Windsor-Essex writing to express my strong opposition to the proposal to reduce Ontario’s 36 conservation authorities to 7 regional agencies. Ontario is home to such a rich diversity of species, many of which are species at risk. Lire davantage

I was recently required to consult with my local conservation authority for approval on a construction project. Not only were the recommendations reasonable and inline with the proposed scope of my project, but the response was quite timely. Lire davantage

The boundaries proposed are far too large to be effective to monitor, report and manage. With conservation authorities already struggling to maintain Ontario lands this seems a step in the wrong direction and possibly a change for the sake of making changes at the cost of Ontarians.

No to amalgamation. This will slow down services for rural areas and cause their concerns to be overlooked by larger areas. Municipalities should be the ones overseeing their areas, not some huge thing that will prioritize over others.

I am completely opposed to a consolidation of Conservation Authorities. Municipal amalgamation has shown us that there is no net benefit to taxpayers and the end result is the loss of our voice and autonomy. Lire davantage

Watershed decisions should be based on science, geography, and local hydrology, not on overly large administrative boundaries. The proposed consolidated regions are too large to remain effective and responsive to local needs. Leave them as-is

Please do not consolidate the conservation authorities !! They are the guardians of our environment - for us today and future generations. Stop destroying the natural environment to further the agenda of greedy developers. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the amalgamation of conservation authorities. They do a good job as they are. They deal with often very local issues and local knowledge is essential. I think the savings would be minimal. Do not proceed with this ill advised amalgamation!

Ontarians do not want their already well-working conservation authorities changed into some inefficient business-like model. Conservation authorities are important for local watershed monitoring and flood mitigation strategies. Blowing this up is just bad management. Lire davantage
