I just don't see that this move to consolidate conservation authorities is necessary. As far as I can see, and I was involved in a conservation group when I lived in Oakville, the conservation authorities do a good job. Lire davantage

I believe conservation authorities have served their main purpose of storm water management. This function could easily be taken over by local municipalities if the Province passed legislation that would overcome the need for this to be done on a watershed basis. Lire davantage

In reading about this, there is data that said that a very low percentage (about 7%) of costs comes from the provincial coffers to keep all the districts operating. That is Ontario tax dollars well spent. Until there is solid verified cost-benefit analysis released please stop this consolidation. Lire davantage
