It is extremely irresponsible to build 11 resident type buildings across from the Oakville GO. Have you spent time in that area? Have you seen how busy Trafalgar Rd is now? Residents in those proposed buildings go shopping, Drs appts., visiting, which means more traffic! Lire davantage

These MZOs would force extreme and reckless density on Midtown, more than double that of any comparable development in the GTA, without the infrastructure to support it; creating chaos and overwhelming transportation and services that are already overstressed, including local roads, transit, the GO Lire davantage

I do not want these high rise buildings built in the heart of the city of Oakville. The infrastructure is not sufficient to sustain an influx of thousands of new residents. That includes GO train parking, ridership, schools, etcetera.

The Minister's Zoning Orders take the decision making powers out of the hands of the Town of Oakville. This is a grave mistake. Our mayor and Town Councillors are very well informed about the characteristics unique to our town and how we function. We need to make decisions at the Town level. Lire davantage

This Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) fails to comply with Premier Ford’s Build Homes Faster agenda and will not deliver a single home before 2031, the Province’s own housing deadline, and will take 25 years to complete. OPA70 is a better alternative and is ready to go. Lire davantage

The economic and viability case for these MZOs and this project has collapsed. The condominium market has both collapsed and shifted, with the market no longer supporting high rise projects dominated by studios and one-bedroom units, which is the configuration this TOC proposes. Lire davantage

The plan to build high density housing near the Oakville GO station is an ill-conceived plan that will bring paralyzing congestion to that area. It also does not deliver what it is promising. Lire davantage

Proceeding with an MZO would lock in a delayed, investor-dependent multiple tower project that: does not start until after 2030; fails the Province’s priorities to get shovels in the ground now and build family homes faster, and increases absorption, fiscal, and governance risk; Lire davantage
