Please keep the beaches especially Wasaga under the protection of the Ontario Provincial Government. Plovers need protection and that means a safe area to raise their young.

Leave Wasaga Beach Provincial Park alone! You greedy politicians just want to fill your pockets with profits from parking fees and tourism. The beach is already too busy! Stop destroying our beautiful natural areas for profit. Read more

You've already rolled back environmental protections that our province may never recover from. Leave our parks alone

I have strong concerns about removing portions of land that is operated and protected by Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Ontario's provincial park system is so important to the residents of this province. Our provincial parks are key to a healthy tourism economy as well. Read more

It is irresponsible and unethical for the Ontario Government to sell off provincial park lands. These lands are essential for the health of people who visit them/live in the region and are important habitats for many species. Including endangered species. Read more

I am concerned that this action will result in the removal of very limited space available for nesting birds, in particular the Piping Plover, which are enjoying a modest recovery. The application does not mention environmental impacts or objectives. Read more

I am so disheartened that this site for the Piping Plover is being put in such a perilous situation. This is a bird that is endangered but unless protection is there it will be gone from the Great Lakes, Canada and the world. Money is always a political draw. Read more

I am very concerned with the province even considering selling a portion of the Wasaga Beach provincial park to the town. This park should remain a provincial park. As a resident of Wasaga Beach l have serious concerns on the possible costs to the towns taxpayers if this sale moves forward. Read more

I am shocked and very disappointed and dismayed that our provincial parks are considered fair game" for development. These parks are a sacred trust held for one another as Ontarians and for future generations. They improve quality of life in the provincial immeasurably for everyone equally. Read more

It is very important that we maintain protected land as such, and not risk its development by giving it to local government. Especially considering there is endangered species on this land. The Piping plover produces half of its fledgling population in Wasaga beach, and has since 2007. Read more

I am strongly against this proposal. I am concerned with endangered species, public access, ecological integrity, and setting precedent for other parks.
