I am strongly opposed to this proposal. It sets a terrible precedent. Provincial parks and conservation areas must remain accessible for all the people of Ontario (and visitors), not be given or sold to developers to make money. Read more

These changes, which aim to support the Town of Wasaga Beach’s Tourism Enhancement Proposal, pose a serious threat to the ecological integrity, public ownership, and long-term sustainability of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Read more

Good Afternoon Ontario, As stewards of our planet, it is our responsibility to actively ensure to the best of our ability that we cause the least harm possible. Nowhere is this more true than for birds, given the incredible decline of bird populations around the world since 1970. Read more

While I understand the need for economic development, our Provincial Parks should never be for sale! Especially those that house ecologically important and sensitive ecosystems. Changes to Wasaga's sandy beaches and dunes is practically a death sentence for the Piping Plover. Read more

I have admired the wonderful efforts at the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to protect the precious and few Piping Plovers. I fear that changes to the control of this sensitive area will negatively impact these lovely little birds. That would be heartbreaking to many. Read more

This proposal does not assure the continued public access to the beach or environmental protection to the area. Furthermore, the amendment to remove legislative approval of the process is very concerning. Read more

I cannot tell you how strongly I disapprove and disgusted I am of this proposal. On many levels it should not proceed, 1. Piping plovers must be protected. Leave inside the park. 2 Provincial Parks are established for all people of Ontario, not for private development Read more

As a resident of Ontario, I find the disregard for endangered species deplorable. Especially because this is only to open up real estate to developers. We need less sprawl and more habitat for biodiversity.

Please consider the environmental importance of Wasaga beach. Our future depends on the decisions we make today to protect fragile environments such as this one. This should not be sold off to be commercialized. Protect our land. Protect our environment. Please.

We are not alone on this planet. We share our lands with more than just humans. Now, more than ever, we need to relinquish our fears of money, and make decisions based on what is best for our planet, as well as all the species we share it with. Read more

I'm infuriated by the idea of selling off ANY of the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. It is a previous resource, as is, for humans and wildlife. Once sold, we cannot get it back. I am begging you to not sell this land.

At a time when water conservation and land use protections are needed most in a rapidly changing climate, removing areas from Provincial Parks is an absolutely terrible decision. The need to balance economic boosts to Wasaga Beach should not come at the cost of the environment. Read more

With the proposed changes in Wasaga Beach area, I am very concerned with the threatened species of piping plovers. They already face soo many obstacles and have volunteers that try to protect them during breeding season. Read more
