The sandy beach at Wasaga is perfect nesting ground for the endangered Piping Plovers. They require protection for several weeks in June. Humans and dogs must be kept away during this time. Fencing to do this must be installed.

This proposal jepardizes the protection of the best habitat for Ontario's endangered Piping Plovers. This is only one of the species that is protected and stewarded with the provincial park. Ontario has protected less than 11% of it's land, including that in provincial parks.
