Combining 36 tailored conservation authorities, who are there to provide protection and feedback to their specific watersheds is very detrimental. These CAs were created for flood protection, and you will reduce that capability by not having staff who know the area very well. Read more

Bad idea. Conservation authorities were created for flood control for different municipalities, lumping these VERY different conservation areas into HUGE group creates a less accurate flood control as well as actual conservation.

This is another horrible idea put forth by our Ontario government. As someone who has worked at multiple conservation authorities in the past, our conservation authorities are stretched thin and striped of their important power from past Ford government legislation. Read more

I am 100% against the proposed boundary changes of Ontario's conservation authorities. I worked for the smallest, and second smallest, Conservation Areas in Ontario. I understand that the proposed changes to the boundaries would result in various issues. Read more

We need local conservation authorities that are on the ground and aware of local issues. Do not centralize this work and take away smaller local offices with important staff who monitor local waterways/forests/etc. Read more
