The revision to this act just looks like the advantage goes to the developers. I understand reducing red tape and simplifying but it cannot always be at the expense of nature. Where are the benefits to the endangered species? Once it's gone it's gone. Read more

I urge your government to cancel Bill 5 and plans to scrap the Endangered Species Act or implement “regulation-free zones” for resource extraction. If anything, Premier Ford should strengthen endangered species protection so wildlife can flourish and communities can benefit from conservation. Read more

Just no! I cannot believe this is where we’re at. Plants and animals were here long before us — human greed has no right to overtake their land. Please reconsider the consequences of these proposed actions.

I disagree with this proposal. It is vital to protect the limited natural habitats that we have left. A temporary housing shortage is not an acceptable reason to do permanent damage that will hurt all of us in the long run. Read more

I am deeply concerned that this piece of legislation will cause extensive and irreparable harm to Ontario's endangered species and their habitats. As the stewards of this province, we have a duty to protect those species who are at risk (usually of our own making). Read more

I am writing as a deeply concerned resident of Toronto to express my strong opposition to Bill 5, the "Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act." The manner in which this bill was introduced—without adequate public consultation—raises serious concerns about transparency and democratic process. Read more

I am writing to express my concern about the impacts that these changes could have on our already fragile ecosystems. Canada needs more protection for its natural features and wildlife, NOT less. We do NOT need a more disastrous climate. Read more

These proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act are a terrible idea and will have direct impacts on the wellbeing of species in Ontario. Without strong legislation species, especially those at risk, slip through the cracks and are harmed by development plans. Read more

This Bill isn’t good for climate change and the risk down the food change. There are other ways to have landfills safely. The long term effects are not worth the risk. “I oppose this proposal.” Read more

The government in Canada is supposed to protect its citizens and the earth we live on here in Canada. Pushing through Bill 5 is in direct contradiction to the above. Doug Ford is selling Ontario to the highest bidder and the citizens feel powerless to stop him. Read more
