Contaminating the Goulais river should not be permitted. No percentage of waste should be allowed by governing authority to be sent into fresh water -treated or otherwise. We are talking after all about not just human excrement but various residual chemicals. Read more

Do not allow the discharge of wastewater into the Goulais River. Why make a headwater park and then allow discharge downstream of it. There are other options. Yes they will cost more but why is the company’s profit more important than our river.

I think it would be a travesty to allow Searchmont Ski Resort use the Goulais River as a dumping ground for their waste. I can't imagine the number of people, animals, fish and other wildlife that would be detrimentally affected by this action. Read more

The Goulais River is a key component of a fragile but essential ecosystem in our region. To allow effluent to be pumped into this waterway runs a very real risk of causing an irreversible poisoning of the aquifer that provides potable water to homes downstream of Searchmont. Read more

When would if ever be good to dump that much sewage in to a river, let alone upstream from thousands of people who live on the river, swim in the river, fish in the river and may get there water from the river. Not to include all the animals that use the water as a drinking source. Read more

the goulais River is home to a large salmon and spotfishery, this is where people gather food for their families. Dumping sewage would not only harm the animals within the river, the animals who forage for it but also for people who feed their children with these resources. Read more

Sounds like the company should be responsible for paying for a proper system and not cutting costs dumping waste into our rivers. If this goes through, I will actively be discouraging people from visiting this ski resort.

I find it extremely concerning that the supporting documentation provided by the proponent (Searchmont Ski Resort Inc.) supplied by Kresins Engineerings design brief only includes consultation records prior to July 21st at 12 PM. See section 4.2.3. Read more

I am in support of this project. I live in Goulais River not too far from the river itself. This is a widely used system for treating wastewater, and is tried and tested. No waste treatment of any kind is 100% risk free. Read more
