While I applaud the Ministry helping hunters increase their tag chances, I must say that if hunters not claiming tags is a good thing for the moose population as a whole. I mean we're not overrun with moose in Ontario. Many parties don't harvest any animals. Lire davantage

The moose draw as it is set up presently does not seem to be process for effectively increasing the moose herd in Ontario. Changing the system to allow for unclaimed tags to be put back into play will also decrease the population of the herd. Lire davantage

I have hunted deer for 60 years in the Clyde Forks, Flower Station area in WMU 63 and moose since the season started in the early 90`s. In the 1970`s there were few deer. MNR implemented a 4 day season in my part of the WMU and introduced a Buck Law in 1980. Lire davantage

Would like to possibly see the group application back if possible, in the last draw have multiple hunters combine lower points to get a tag, once preference given to highest single points as done now, thanks.

No matter what you do the moose crowd will find fault with it. Leave it as it is. Any unclaimed tags just means less moose getting harvested and thus hopefully help rebound the population. Lire davantage

The problem with any tag system, is that it has to be done way ahead of the hunt season. A hunter has all intentions of hunting then something in life comes up. Family member dies, bad health, or work will not let them take the time off. Lire davantage

I think the moose tag system is too complicated as it is, and the proposed changes don't seem to have a goal of stock replenishment in mind. I feel the moose population is stressed (with the increase of wolves and coyotes plus parasitic ticks) and that it needs the opportunity to recover. Lire davantage

Concerned regarding first choice second chance allocation.Our group is happy with one moose,so if there is two of us applying cow bull example it would be nice to let a tag go and keeping it for the third chance for someone else. Thanks

I am a camp owner and I agree with the Point system for the adult tags only,and you guys should go back to calf tags when you buy a moose license because the younger generation cannot hunt, and the camps are being sold because they can’t get any tags for moose hunting, if you guys continue this, you Lire davantage

Take the calf tags out of the draw completely. Everyone thinks “aww the poor little calf’s”. I’m here to tell you that as a resident moose hunter in Ontario calves aren’t that easy to hunt. They’re a lot harder to harvest than an adult moose. Lire davantage

First of all this review falls short of what hunters had anticipated. This review simply looks at how you give out door prizes not how effective it is in increasing the moose herd and making more tags in initial allocation available. No! No! No! Absolutely do not take the points away after the 2nd draw first choice! All that needs to be done is move up the claim time for the second draw including the second and third choice! Could never understand why these tags never had a claim date! Example! Lire davantage
