Access to climbing locations in Ontario is my way of connecting to nature. As many studies have shown, climbing is a low impact activity. Indeed, with access comes a greater appreciation of how important it is to protect the parks with their unique ecosystem. Lire davantage

I interpret the proposal as adding additional land to the park and the park protecting more land through the changes. As long as that is true, then I support that. I believe in protecting our natural and cultural heritage. Lire davantage

I was born and raised in Ontario with a love for the outdoors. Over the years I’ve travelled across the country working and playing across our cliffs and mountains as a rock guide, coming back to Ontario for work in 2021. Lire davantage

In general I am neutral on the changes in the proposal, though they seem reasonable, but I am strongly in favour of the recognition of rock climbing as a recreational use of the park space. Lire davantage

I am pleased that Devil's Glen Provincial Park is considering an amendment to the management plan to formally recognize rock climbing as a permitted activity. Devil's Glen is home to over 160 classic rock climbing routes, with a history of climbing dating back at least since 1983. Lire davantage

Keep climbing at Devils Glen. Permits are unnecessary bureaucracy until a time when overcrowding of the crags becomes an issue. Permits make the outdoors less accessible Lire davantage

Climbing at the Devil’s Glen is important to myself and many other outdoor enthusiasts in Ontario. Having climbing recognized as a recreational activity at Devil’s Glen would further secure safe access to climb. Lire davantage
