Access to nature through provincial parks is necessary for all Ontario residents. We do not support you removing protections and selling off our natural spaces. Leave parks and conservation areas alone. It didn't work with the Greenbelt and it won't work here. Hands off.

I do not support turning any part of Wasaga Provincial Park over to the city of Wasaga. We have insufficient public access to our lakes. Most of us do not own a cottage. Increase our parks and park sizes, not reduce them.

I totally disagree with the proposed transfer of ecologically sensitive beaches to the Town of Wasaga Beach for the purposes of tourism and investment. Lire davantage

I strongly object to the authority for this beach area being transferred from the province to the town of Wasaga. The habitat of the endangered Plovers among other national natural treasures must be protected.

It is unthinkable that we would even be considering dismantling our provincial park system ... please reconsider taking destructive action in Wasaga, and setting a dangerous precedent for further detrimental changes in other protected areas.

I do not agree with the strategy of transferring ownership. Private ownershop/development should not remove more public waterfront for private entities. They are not making more waterfront. Develop on the outskirts if needed, leave the public beach fully open to the public.

The proposed changes are not restoration, it is development of an environmentally fragile area with numerous at-risk species. It also touches on a very important question we need to address re our parks- at what point do we end up wrecking the beautiful places that we love by loving them too much? Lire davantage

This is just the greenbelt scandal all over again. Doug Ford needs to stop only taking advice (and bribes) from wealthy developers, and start listening to what the general population of Ontario has to say. People value public park lands. Lire davantage

I am all for Beach Area 1 and 2 to be rebuilt and Nancy Island to be fixed up and become a tourist attraction once again. What I am not crazy about is Parks Ontario handing over some parts of the Beach to the town of Wasaga Beach. Lire davantage

Losing natural beach habitat would be devastating to the piping plover, an endangered shore bird.

As a concerned citizen on the destruction of the important natural features of the currently protected sand dunes that make Wasaga Beach so special, I oppose the proposed legislative amendments to the PPCRA to remove parts of land from the Provincial park system and the sale of the crown land to the Lire davantage

This is shameful.. you are losing supporters with this one. It can’t help but feel as though everything that made/makes Ontario special is being taken away from the people who live and love it here. I have so many wonderful memories at this beach. Do you care at all for the people? Lire davantage

We cannot sell our provincial parks and especially locations where endangered species call home. Protect Wasaga Beach now and forever so generations going forward can enjoy it as well.

Ontarians need this oasis. I am reaching out to voice my strong support for maintaining the current state of our public beach. This natural space is a treasured part of our community—a place where families gather, children play, and residents connect with nature. Lire davantage

There is insufficient information for the public to approve the removal of public park land in the Wasaga beach area. It seems fool hardy to permanently remove public land without a full analysis of the impact on the environments, employment of parks personnel and preserving public spaces. Lire davantage

This proposal feels like we are moving backwards as a province. Beach ecosystems are under threat in Ontario and required ongoing protection. People care about endangered species such as piping plovers and all the other organisms that benefit from the protection of their habitat. Lire davantage

I'm writing in protest of Doug Ford's latest attack on the common good. He had to back off on making the Green Belt as a gift for his developer buddies, so now he wants to make provincial parks disappear. It's not OK. Lire davantage

We must not allow the Ontario government to take public lands (such as Wasaga Beach) and privatize them. We must prioritize the environment, fighting the climate emergency, and protecting the public good.

This is PUBLIC land, that belongs to the PEOPLE of Ontario. You have absolutely no right to sell off OUR land to your developers buddies. If they are going to sell off Wasaga, the most popular provincial park!!, what is going to happen to the rest of OUR land. Lire davantage

If you keep taking beaches like this away, we’re not going to have anything left. Species will become extinct, all in the name of greed. Absolutely disgusting and heartbreaking.
