The removal of environmentally sensitive areas from parks and conservation areas for the purposes of business and tourism compromises endangered and protected species. This is a slippery slope that indicates governmental disdain for our environment and the welfare of our planet. Lire davantage

I am deeply opposed to the proposed sale of any designated provincial parkland in Wasaga Beach. Ford nor his government own our Provincial Parks, Ontarians do and therefore, this proposal should be subject to a provincial referendum to let the people decide. Lire davantage

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed sale of approximately 60% of the beachfront lands at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and to any amendments that would weaken the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act (PPCRA). Lire davantage

Provincial Parks belong to all of us and opening them up for private development cannot be tolerated. If we think this is being done for anything other than short-sighted financial reasons, we are fooling ourselves. A precedent is being set here that cannot stand. Lire davantage

Wasaga Beach and all provincial parks and endangered species are hands off to you, Doug Ford! Leave our beautiful parks and beaches alone! I want to call you Donald Trump because of your blatant disregard for our natural parks and wildlife. You have no right! Lire davantage

It's appalling that the provincial government is transferring (selling off) land that has been set aside for different purposes. Land under Ontario Parks have stated values to help protect the natural environment and educate visitors. Lire davantage

Please do NOT allow developers to take over Wasaga Beach! This is a very important PUBLIC asset that we should not be relinquishing to the private sector. The beach will be spoiled, the overall environment will threatened by construction. Lire davantage

I've written a letter to Orillia Matters which has been published and same letter was also published by Barrie News, August 6, 2025 indicating my thoughts about the sale of approximately 140 acres of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park including 60% of the beach front where piping plovers nest and which al Lire davantage

Wasaga Beach should be remain a protected area. There are many things more valuable than money. Once lost, some things are irreplaceable. Money doesn’t buy everything, it just appeases those who have nothing else.

Wasaga Beach and all provincial parks should not be developed further in any way. Tourism can flourish in other adjacent places. One of the main reasons people want to go to the provincial parks is because they ARE NOT developed. Lire davantage

I am concerned about the proposal to develop Wasaga Beach. Wasaga Beach is home to habitats that support the Piping Plover which is an endangered species. Developing these lands put this species at even further risk, rather than protecting it. Lire davantage
