The proposed amendments will negatively impact the land and animal species in the area. Do not sell crown land nor allow the city of Wasaga to increase the density of tourism and commerce. Doug Ford’s government continues to seek to harm our natural spaces in the pursuit of profit for the few.

Please do not consider transferring land at Wasaga Beach where Piping Plovers nest from Ontario Parks to the Town of Wasaga Beach. The proposed land transfer will put the Endangered Piping Plovers at a higher risk. Lire davantage

The extent of the town of Wasaga Beach exists because of the extensive provincial park beachfront parkland. Leave the park in its entirety for future generation of Ontarians. Provincial parks were never meant to be disposed of and taken out of possession of the the general public. Lire davantage

In continuation with other recently passed legislation this proposal to allow the removal of land from wasaga beach provincial park and allow the sale of beach areas to “increase tourism” is disappointing. These are critical habitat areas for plovers, other shore birds and wildlife in general. Lire davantage

It would be devastating to destroy any more of the endangered piping plover habitat that is likely not being considered enough by this proposal.

This proposal seems to be lacking enough consideration for the possible destruction of the habitat of endangered piping plovers. These birds have recently been able to make a comeback as a conservation success story and contribute to the tourism significantly. Lire davantage

Selling provincial land to developers is not in the best interest of Ontarians. People use and love Wasaga beach and cutting it back at a time when the population of Ontario is growing and costs are going up is a mistake. Lire davantage

Shame on the Ford government for taking away land (in this case, Wasaga Beach) from hard working people. We are just trying to get by in these difficult economic times and now he will be selling off public spaces to private developers who don't give a crap about us. Lire davantage

Being a Wasaga Beach resident for over 40 years I have seen many changes brought on by different councils, some for the better and others not. I do not believe that selling the parkland in question to the town will be the best decision for our community or the environment. Lire davantage

I don’t understand. If you are not going to change anything regarding the environment and protections of endangered species, etc. why not leave everything the way it is. There would be no reason to transfer the ownership. So dead against this change. Wasaga Beach resident for over 20 years!!

I am so worried about the future of the beaches at Wasaga. Why develop natural habitats, such as the Piping Plover? There will be no turning back, prerve the beaches, parks. Don't add concrete, parking lots, etc to the unpredictable shore line (drainage, ice jams, flooding, etc). Lire davantage

NO Parkland is not meant to be sold! It risks ecosystem damage that cannot be remediated by future generations, It is a direct transfer of wealth from the past and future taxpayers and Canadians. The sale will benefit the few. Lire davantage

Life long resident of beach area 2 for more than 50 years. I believe our beach should stay as is…the town doesn’t need to have any rights to this property.
