I have been a supporter of the conservative party for a long time, and this single proposal would drive my vote away. Ontario parks are for Ontarians to enjoy the natural wonders of Ontario. Lire davantage

As a nature lover, I am amazed how people in the government have become completely obsessed with following protocol and not public opinion. We have wonderful resources like Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and beautiful nature trails that are so important. Lire davantage

Though I don’t live in Ontario now, though I used to, I am worried about the future of Piping Plovers at Wasaga beach. This area should remain as parkland so that the Plovers can continue to be protected and conserved. I urge you to put in place a management plan and sufficent esources that: Lire davantage

Do not hand over/sell Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to the Town of Wasaga Beach. Such a transfer sets a dangerous precedent for public access to park land and for the protection of natural spaces and species in the province of Ontario! We find our public spaces have more and more usage. Lire davantage

Do not let this start. It will only be the beginning of the end. Why start to destroy what Ontario is known for.

This proposal to transfer Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga, Allenwood Beach, and Nancy Island out of the protection of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006, and the Historical Parks Act, thrusts one of our most popular Provincial Parks into an uncertain future. Lire davantage

I am very concerned that the sale of this land will be harmful to the endangered species the piping plover. The town of Wasaga beach will not care for the land, or the plovers the way the provincial parks do. Provincial parks need to remain in control of these beaches. Lire davantage

Protection of Ontario wildlife and habitat is an utmost priority and aids the Conservative government to gain support across a broad political base. Please consider the plovers and Wasaga beach. Their current status is at risk with the proposed changes. Lire davantage

Handing over this land to the Town of Wasaga Beach is a death sentence to piping plovers in the province - habitat protections will be non-existent and development can go forward with no input from scientists or biologists. Lire davantage

While I appreciate the statements made by Wasaga Beach's Mayor Smith on July 30, 2025—that the land would not go to developers, that there are no plans to build on it, that environmentally sensitive dune areas will be preserved, and that no sensitive habitats are under threat, they are not part of t Lire davantage

I am writing to state my opposition to the Ontario government’s plan to strip provincial park protection from key parts of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, and to sell much of this land for “integration into the broader development of Destination Wasaga”. Lire davantage
