I vehemently disagree with changing the structure of conservation areas into larger areas. Local, smaller areas are fundamentally better designed to protect these environmentally sensitive ecosystems.

I feel like centralizing environmental protection is a bad idea. Bigger agencies have less information about the specific, contextual needs of various watersheds and eco systems. Smaller, localized conservation authorities have better insight into the needs of the communities they serve. Lire davantage

I am in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and I am strongly opposed to any amalgamation of conservation authorities across Ontario. Northern Ontario’s a huge geographical area and it’s too vast to be served by a single conservation authority.
