Keep conversation authorities local but add an regional oversight committee to advise on concerns as a whole.
Every local has a different ecosystem and unique issues, therefore a regional approach will only complicate matters and no significant improvements will be made.

I, strongly oppose the proposed boundaries for the regional consolidation of Ontario’s Conservation Authorities.
The proposed changes will erode accountability and local services, impose significant costs on taxpayers, and cause delays for landowners, builder and developers.

The GRCA is a vital resource for ensuring water security & environmental safety for the Waterloo region in which I live. The changes to its funding, authority structure, etc., will negatively impact the residents & wild life of this & other regions.

I am submitting this comment to express strong opposition, deep concern, and a profound lack of trust in the Ontario government’s proposal to consolidate conservation authorities and restructure their governance and boundaries. This proposal is not a neutral administrative reform.

I STRONGLY disagree with this idea, I think we need to do the complete opposite and bolster the conversation authorities we already have with even more staff and resources to protect Ontario's precious ecosystems.

I live in Hamilton and my house was almost flooded in 2023 after a series of heavy rainfalls. The normal municipal drainage system in my neighbourhood was overwhelmed by these rain events which were caused by our changing climate.

In my 40+ years of involvement with watersheds, at the county, municipal, education and conservation authority levels, I have come to realize that “watersheds” can be a difficult concept for people to fully understand.

I do not believe niagara falls has anything to gain by building another casino. We have too many homeless people that need help, hospitals that need doctors and nurses, schools that need EAPs to help our children. The money generated from this new casino will not be used for these purposes.

I am deeply concerned with the large area that will be made with these changes. Will local issues be addressed in a timely manner?
How will conservation authorities in the far south understand what is occurring in the the far north of these new boundaries as an example?
