I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO.
I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community.
Merging would be expensive and the productive details will get lost.
Please don’t change whats working well!

Merging smaller more focussed local organizations into larger, less specific and less targeted organizations, will result in a decrease in quality of services.

I agree with the Hamilton Conservation Authority’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community.
I do not support the proposed consolidation of Ontario’s conservation authorities. In my view, this initiative risks weakening environmental oversight at a time when strong, localized protection is critically needed.

I am concerned that this proposal is meant to place lower consideration on the local concerns surrounding permitting, and favours the developers.

Reviewing the proposal, I think the current boundaries are better able to represent local needs of the conservation districts priorities, and further concentration of power would be counterproductive in serving constituants.
We need to retain the current ability of conservation authorities to support rural municipalities. Currently RVCA does a great job in Rideau Lakes Township.

I do not agree with the consolidation. The current system allows for each authority to focus and advocate for their specific region and needs.

I believe this would be a big mistake. It. 1. takes decision making and control from the local people and politicians. 2. It will increase the beauracracy and cost more to administer. \
3. These large amalgamations do not make sense as they are too large and spread out.

Amalgamation of Ontario's Consevation Authouities is a power grab by the PC's. PC's will bypass existing checks and balances that protect property owners, conservationi associations, and environmentalists from government unilateral exploitation of and use, in the name "progress".

We should not be diverting resources from the conservation authorities at this time. I have many concerns about the impact on water and the environment if builders are allowed to develop wherever they want to in protected areas and undeveloped areas.

This is an unnecessary consolidation for the wrong reasons. These are unique regions and consolidation only serves to weaken the attention given to each regions unique needs.

The Friends of Short Hills Park in the Niagara Region strongly oppose the consolidation of Ontario's conservation authorities. Niagara’s distinctive flora, fauna, and geography require specialized management that would not benefit from amalgamation with other regions.

A move like this makes it clear that this government understands and also doesn’t care about the environment. Our land shouldn’t be looked at as something with a price tag.

This is a transparent attempt to degrade the authority of conservation authorities. Leave one decent public institution alone without finding a way to make it worse. Provincial "oversight" only serves to remove the power people have in their own communities to make the change they want to see.

I and almost everyone I have spoken with have serious concerns that this proposal to centralize management and administration of the conservation areas will result in less local representation. The current structure provides a good level of local representation.
