I am very much against amalgamation of CA's in order to, as Mininster McCarthy said on our local news "Get shovels in the ground sooner". CAs play a vital role in protecting source water and mitigating flooding. Forget the shovels for goodness sake! This is about saving lives. Lire davantage

The local CA's have a closer understanding of what is happening in their respective areas that will be lost once a centralized position is taken. We would like the proposal scrapped leaving the local CA's to determine how to go forward in their respective areas.

I do not think amalgamating all these boards is a good idea. The smaller conservation boards will be forgotten and the larger ones will have the most say. It is also important that the local governments be on these. Lire davantage
