I do not support this. Consolidation, efficiencies, offering "choices"...so much corpo-speak to deregulate, financialize and dismantle environmental protections. We need to collectively protect and support these delicate natural systems. Lire davantage

I do not trust the Ford government to make these changes because it was found that they were doing back room deals with developers in regards to the greenbelt lands.

Regardless of if the new consolidation passes, I want to see stewardship activities to continue to occur. The conservation authorities are important land stewardship voices as well as practitioners.

I do not trust the Ford government to continue, let alone, improve the conservation efforts for protecting our ravines and flood plains. I live in an area where The TRCA has been cut back and told not to object to extensive development in and around the ravine in which i live. Lire davantage

My biggest concern is that there is no CA for the Muskoka watershed. We have had serious issues with flooding, poor planning on the construction of new homes/cottages in flood plans, and an accelerated degradation of the water quality in our region. Lire davantage

This is a terrible idea as it reduces the ability of conservation authorities to to manage the detail of issues within their domain with less staff. I means attention to fine detail in small environmental areas will be ignored so the bigger issues can be dealt with. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to merging the 36 conservation authorities to a comparatively measly 7. This will greatly reduce the amount of work that can be done, decrease efficiency, and increase response time substantially. Lire davantage

This is a terrible approach. We need to protect our environment more than ever, and that requires local understanding and approaches to solve the complex problems of today’s world. We should not prioritize faster permitting approval for development, because we need to reduce development.
