I do not agree with the merger of Conservation Authorities. I believe this needs to stay in the hands of local authorities and perhaps additional provincial laws can made to assist with expediency of permits ect. Thank you. Read more

This is absolutely ludicrous! Combining our conservation authorities will have a negative impact on our environment. The proposed boundaries are too large and unmanageable. Ford will be losing votes for this move. It’s disgusting what he is trying to do to our Province.

Bill 68 is a mistake. It will negatively impact the protection of endangered species and sensitive wildlife areas. I am in my 60s and have seen the decline of species, such as barn swallows and insects. We need all species to survive. This will be a huge mistake, if pushed through. Read more

By stating freeing up frontline resources, it sounds like you mean by merging the conservation authorities you will be giving these folks more to manage with less resources (money, man power, etc.) when they already have a lot on their plate. Read more

Maintain the commitment to integrated watershed management. We need the Authorities as they are currently designated because watershed management is a deeply localized exercise. These units were created as a response to Hurricane Hazel. Physics— not politics— determined their boundaries. Read more

I see the posting about the erroneous inclusion on multiple Conservation Authorities in larger areas. That is indicative of the haste that results in this proposal which is erroneous in all ways. 1. There is no need for the forced amalgamation of the Conservation Authorities. Read more

All small locations should be amalgamated with larger ones and the real estate should be sold off. When amalgamating, some lay-offs should be included, especially ones of management positions. Read more

Good morning, I would to register my dissatisfaction with the rearranging of the conservation authorities. I live in Windsor Ontario and I am surrounded by water. It needs an authority that it is aware of need to cover a very large area now let alone extending the area. Read more

The Ontario government is leaning in to the developers in Southern Ontario. The Northern Ontario Conservation Authorities are effective and vital to stop dangerous flooding events. We need less building on flood plains. Floods are life and wildlife threatening events and very expensive. Read more
