Merging all the conservation authorities is a disaster waiting to happen. Different ecosystems have different needs. Different jobs are needed in different areas. I’m guessing the goal is layoffs, and instilling your own reps who know nothing about the areas they are responsible for.

I strongly oppose the merger of the conservation authorities into a smaller number of entities. As a rural and small town area, it is important to have local governance and control over the watersheds in our area.

I am absolutely opposed to this proposition by the provincial government. This “improvement” to have a provincial board governing conservation initiatives, as well as the changes made to the endangered species act, is a recipe for disaster for our great province.
