I oppose the consolidation of conservation authorities because sufficient information has not been provided as to the approach to consolidation. Consolidating multiple organizations is an expensive and time consuming process, from a people, policy and technology perspective. Read more

Please do NOT consolidate ANY of our Ontario Conservation Authorities! They are separate for good reasons, and each Authority has a distinct area of specialization and requires its own management to operate effectively.

This is a bad idea. Consolidation does nothing but create mess and confusion, and will Make these authorities less knowledgeable about their areas. Specialized knowledge is integral to good maintenance and supervision. Read more

The Hiawatha Highlands is a great place I have used it for over 52 years Please do not amalgamate Its very well operated with also lots of volunteers including me If this happens l am one of many who will have to step aside. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it In other words do not change it Thanks

I disagree with this amalgamation. You are unlikely to value these comments to change your mind, but please reconsider given the strong opposition from nearly all in the province. This change of process will be incredibly costly. You are changing other legislation now, wait before you change this. Read more

It seems like the Ford government is bound and determined to ruin the environment. He tried with the Greenbelt and now he is weakening the conservation areas. The people of this province have no way to stop him and his rich benefactors. It hurts my heart. Read more

I am concerned this consolidation will result in slower approvals as boards could be 70 plus people under current rules and the new conservation areas will too large in area for local knowledge of watersheds which is important for making informed decisions regarding planning approvals. Read more
