Our conservations are all important individually, as each individual conservation expert who work in one of the 37 conservations know these habitats and waterways like the back of their own hand. Read more

I live in Elgin County. I am very concerned about the proposed amalgamation of conservation authorities. I have seen first hand how the amalgamation of our local school boards was to the “community voice”. Read more

This plan is not a great idea. I do not think the province is acting in good faith for the people of Ontario. Larger CA’s will only lead to reduce capacities and local work they do for the public. Read more

As a homeowner in Ontario who has dealt with flooding first-hand, the intention and risks attached to this bill are ludicrous. Reducing oversight of and removing expertise on environmental risk within government is nonsensical and dangerous. Read more

I do not support these changes. I believe this to be nothing more than leaders trying to bury deep in layered beaurocracy the current provincial government’s plans to destroy and ‘develop’ protected watersheds and wild areas and bypass environmental protections. When will you all be satisfied? Read more

The premise that this will reduce red tape and speed up housing is unfounded. If anything this will lengthen decision times because CAs will be stretched across huge boundaries and authorities from massively different areas will need to manage areas they are not familiar with. Read more

I am a born Canadian citizen and constituent of South Stormont, under the purview of the Raisin Region Conservation Authority. The idea of further amalgamation of anything under the province's jurisdiction is asinine, and I wholeheartedly reject the notion. Read more

We have a gold standard conservation authority model. Combining into 7 from 36 serves no purpose except to set the stage for their demise. If the staffing and funding is to remain the same as is claimed then why consolidate? Let the local CAs be granular to the municipalities that fund them. Read more

The proposed consolidation of conservation area is another example of the conservative government exerting their power, and taking away the individualized and regional expertise. The government is once again overstepping and making decisions which will give a few privileges individuals more power. Read more

Consolidating Ontario's conservation authorities will only backfire in the long run. This government is putting Ontarian's homes and livelihoods on the line for profit. This government is heading up creek without a paddle. Read more
