We need an ecological focused approach to the future. Unchecked growth will lead to our downfall. We need to consider the health and prosperity of all living beings if we are to ensure a positive future for ourselves. Please reconsider these dangerous changes to the endangered species act.

This is not a good approach and will open up too many loopholes that will only cause damage to our environment that’s already struggling. Focus on improving the Ministry’s response if that’s the issue. Serious considerations MUST be taken when it comes to protecting our land and species. Read more

I have several strong objections to the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. Upon reading this proposal I have noted: - the proposed changed would establish a new Species Conservation Program to support voluntary initiatives like habitat restoration that protect and conserve species Read more

I do not agree with this proposal. “Habitat” has much more than just nesting or denning sites, which are also only prevalent in certain times of the year which this does not take into account. Read more

This is the most egregious step yet, and that says something. The definition of 'habitat' here is not supported by evidence over the last 140+ years and it is clear that the intent is to give legal pretense to codify habitat loss as being not only permitted but desirable. Read more

We are not in a position to be compromising our environment. We do not need to negatively impact the natural world any longer. Please do not continue with this. Enough of the natural world has been destroyed by the current government as it is. This is not supported by the people of Ontario.

This is a short-sighted attempt to put profit over Ontario's beautiful nature and precious animal species by a government and premier already under RCMP investigation for corrupt practices in ceding public land to private profiteers. Read more

I oppose Bill 5 and changes to ESA 2007 as well as new Species Conservation Act 2025. Changes to oversight of environmental assessments, SAR oversight and approvals, and indigenous treaty rights to review impacts on asserted territories and wildlife are going too far. Read more

I vehemently oppose this proposal. Protections for these species are in place for a reason, and we need more of them--not fewer. You can't reduce safe habitat areas to the bare minimum and expect species not to be negatively effected. Life before capital. Read more

Please do not do this. Change zoning laws instead. He’s just changing this so that he doesn’t have another GreenBelt scandal because the protections won’t be there in the 1st place

I am a part of multiple community groups who volunteer time and manpower to conservation efforts in Toronto, including cleaning the city of garbage and removing invasive plant species to let native species thrive. Read more

I strongly disagree with changing the Endangered Species Act as listed in the proposal for the Species Conservation Act. It is not necessary to bulldoze huge swaths of green space for use by developers, destroying ecosystems for short term profit. Read more

I do not agree with this proposal. Infrastructure development should not be the priority. With a natural world that is struggling to survive we should not be focusing our efforts on infrastructure development. It SHOULD be hard to build. Read more

It's amazing that this proposal is so disgustingly written that even the summary comes off as pretentious and lazy despite it being only two sentences long. Truly an accomplishment worthy of literally nothing. Read more
