The way I read this is that if I live in zone 10 and go fishing in another northern zone I wouldn’t be able to trap and use my own baitfish. These areas are very remote and it would be less harmful to use baitfish from the actual body of water being fished

Well how will that work for me where im a tax payer in 2 different zones fish in both when I can and spend lots of my time at both residenses??? I always catch my own bait weather its worms minnows or leaches !!! you can email me your response at muckmuck172@hotmail.com

I live in Essex county I would suggest having more officers at various locations and actually make a presence in check licences and making sure everyone is following the rules I see people using hobbies as bait far too much people having way too many minnows multiple poles and just all out poaching Lire davantage

This is a rediculous proposal, just another excuse to ticket tax paying citizens who cannot prove where they bought their minnows. I buy minnows and I salt the left overs so everything gets used, many times they last much longer then 2 weeks. Lire davantage

I do not in any way agree with someone only being able to harvest bait in the region in which they reside. In increasingly often circumstances bait is not available for purchase in certain areas. To deny my right to harvest my own bait for use is unfair and unjustified. Lire davantage

The only way to keep lakes from being contaminated with non native bait fish is to have a total ban on live bait Province wide. Its easy to see the Bait / minnow trap Regs. and laws we have now are not being enforced.

If you would like to get serious about reducing the risk of spreading invasive species, disease, etc. then I would commit to complete ban on use of live bait in Ontario. Many other jurisdictions either have this ban in effect or are moving in this direction. Lire davantage
