Capping Inclusionary Zoning units at 80% of Average Market Rate represents only a 20% reduction in price and doesn't guarantee any stability from future rising prices due to speculation occurring within a development or neighbourhood. Lire davantage

I am concerned that the proposed regulatory changes to inclusionary zoning will further limit the effectiveness of the tool and will only serve to benefit developers, instead of residents. Lire davantage

I am supportive of more housing in Ontario, however, limiting the number (percent) of affordable housing units per development is ridiculous. Ontarian's need affordable housing more than ever- having new houses is great but most people can't afford to buy a house that is $700,000! Lire davantage

This amendment will do nothing to improve access to affordable housing. Pricing houses at 80% of market value is NOT affordable housing. No where close. Stop trying to promote this amendment as a strategy to improve access to affordable housing.

Inclusionary zoning used to put billionaire developers on the hook for including affordable housing. Now you have removed this requirement and put taxpayers on the hook instead. Lire davantage

I was very dismayed to see the government go back on their words published last year in the Toronto Star where Minister Steve Clark stated that the government was "not going to entertain any conversations about a land swap" in regards to Ontario's Greenbelt. Lire davantage

My concern is that the proposed amendments to inclusionary zoning will make proposing a development a little bit easier for non-profit developers but a lot easier for for-profit developers. It should be the other way around. Lire davantage

5% upper limit is not enough! We need a good MINIMUM to ensure affordable housing is built with EVERY development or redevelopment. This inclusionary zoning amendment needs to be more ambitions to allow more variety in housing stock in rental or to-own units. Lire davantage

Only 5% affordable housing? Great way to make this city even more unaffordable, and to kill it off when people realize they just can’t live here and move away. Push it to no maximum % affordable, and mandate 25%.

Comments Provided. Although Inclusionary zoning is not a Regional responsibility, the inclusion of global parameters limiting the number of units, and depth and duration of affordability does not consider the nuances of individual projects. Lire davantage

Setting an across-the-board limit for affordable housing is a flawed proposal. Not only does it ignore the varying need for affordable housing, but it also means less affordable housing. Lire davantage

I am very concerned about Bill 23’s impact on Inclusionary Zoning, the bylaw(s) that stipulate any new developments must allocate a percentage of units as affordable for a certain period of time. Lire davantage

I would urge you to use your collective wisdom in arriving at an acceptable way to move forward without grabbing away any of the green belt. Once that is done, there is no going back. Please DO NOT TOUCH the green space is favour of what you call, moving forward. Lire davantage
