This is not a good idea. These standards are important not only for safety but for energy cost savings and our well-being. This will only lead to more spending in the future to retrofit buildings once it's realized this is a bad idea.

Features such as improved insulation make homes less expensive in the long run by reducing the utility bills. To be cost effective these changes need to be done during construction. For example, it is a small cost to put in R22 insulation instead of R20 when a home is being built. Lire davantage
