Our water systems should remain public, and control over them by private entities would remove many safeguards, potentially increase costs, and open up the possibility of other resources being turned over to corporations. Stop selling off our natural resources. Lire davantage

There is no reason for the province to take over municipal water systems. Especially with the current government who has destroyed our healthcare and education systems with their mismanagement utter lack of transparency. This is grossly overstepping and a complete abuse of power. Lire davantage

I am deeply concerned about the possibilities that this bill will allow privatization of public water and wastewater systems through agents of municipalities. I worked in the drinking water sector before, during and after the Walkerton crisis. Lire davantage

Banning municipalities to require green or sustainable building standards is frankly COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE. The same can be said about eliminating requirements for climate adaptation in official plans. Lire davantage

It is Provincial authority overreach! Do respect municipalities’ authority to require low-carbon, efficient, and resilient development. Leave municipalities alone in their green and climate resilient planning! Don't you have kids to worry about for a better future?

Privatization isn’t a silver bullet. If it’s a foregone conclusion, at least have the asset’s liabilities move over along with the asset. Don’t privatize gains and socialize costs thereby creating an imbalance that will eventually break leaving consumers and communities bearing the brunt.

Water is life and must be protected as such. It is a public necessity and should be protected from risk of privatization or financialization. This absolutely must not pass in its current form.

As a resident of Etobicoke, Ontario I do not support the proposed changes. Mandatory enhanced development standards such as green development standards are necessary in an urban environment. They should NOT be voluntary and municipalities should be able to require them. Lire davantage

It is vital that Ontario's fresh water resources remain in the hands of the people. The continued availability of clean and safe fresh water for all Ontarians must be assured. Ontario's water management must be conducted in the public interest, not for the enhancement of private profits. Lire davantage

Bill 98 is a step backwards in time. It does not recognize the emergency of Climate Change. Ontario is not providing any leadership in leading the way to addressing Climate Change. Quite the opposite. Lire davantage
