The minimum of 46 affordable units is appalling. The maximum of 210 should be the minimum. We should not have a net loss of affordable housing so developers can profit from a high rise in a residential neighbourhood. We need this to get moving. The property is an eyesore. Lire davantage

1) the area in question is already zoned residential and has been for decades 2) the rail company already has a responsibility for its impact on the surrounding residential communities 3) this land has the infrastructure and services available now to provide much needed housing now Lire davantage

Definitely long time to move forward on this project. I’m a local neighbour to this property, and the need for housing when this sits vacant is hard to justify. I would only want to ensure as many mature trees as possible are preserved.

I've lived in Hamilton all my life. I currently live in the Hamilton Central riding near Gore Park. This development being delayed is a stain on Hamilton's history at this point. We have a clear need for more affordable housing. CN rail's ability to halt progress for more housing is detestable.

This project must be approved for Jamesville in Hamilton! Out city and communities desperately need affordable housing. Jamesville has sat empty for years and it is awful how many people and families were displaced to see it sit empty and abandoned. Lire davantage

This redevelopment MUST be pushed through. This area of James st N has been left to rot for far too long as CN drags it's heels, and has become an unsightly and dangerous blight on the community. Lire davantage

I work in addictions in Hamilton, and also with those that are unhoused. It's clear that Hamilton has a housing crisis. With inflation and rising costs of living, more people are struggling than ever before. People need affordable housing, not just for those that access shelters, but as prevention. Lire davantage

This initiative is absolutely critical. For an area that could attract young families because of its proximity to the water and bayfront park, Janesville is currently a post-apocalyptic looking area that people are afraid to walk by. Lire davantage

This needs to be made into low income housing again, not apartment buildings where bugs spread rampant, not more condos people can’t afford, an affordable housing survey. As costs continue to soar more and more Hamilton residents are falling into poverty and housing is needed. Lire davantage

As a long time resident of the North End it has been disappointing to see this community not make use of this land and see the dwelling fall further into disrepair while people are suffering unhoused. Any development on this site should be as close to 100% community housing as possible. Lire davantage

Please consider the many vulnerable people who would greatly benefit from turning this huge area into social housing. It would also help regenerate the area by treating this huge eye sore in the community - the homes have all been vandalized.

With the current lack of housing , this plain and simply seems like a brilliant solution. There is no point in leaving this property vacant when it could be utilized to facilitate homes for such a vast variety of people in different situations. Everyone deserves a home.

It's so wrong that these homes were taken away 10 years ago. Homelessness is a huge problem. We need to address homelessness and to get affordable housing back on the table ASAP. Let's learn from the mistakes and not repeat them. Lire davantage
