I again find it ridiculous that the Ontario government continues to overreach their authority when it comes to how the city of Toronto, alongside municipalities throughout Ontario, function and govern. Lire davantage

Comment on Bill 60 I am strongly opposed to Bill 60 and any legislation that restricts municipalities from making local decisions about how their streets are designed and used. Lire davantage

This flies in the face of any evidence and traffic studies around bus lanes, and dedicated bike lanes. This is a purely political decision stoking a culture war issue that will endanger my life and the lives of my loved ones. Lire davantage

I have lived in different cities all around the world, and have learned that the most liveable cities are those who prioritize public transportation and bike lanes. My personal feeling was confirmed by an international study in search of the most liveable city in the world. Lire davantage

It is high time for the Ontario government to abide to court decisions instead of spending taxpayer money on petty projects that don’t help citizens.

This bill is dangerous and is self defeating. The only way that works to reduce traffic congestion is to give people viable alternatives to driving. We need to make human psychology work for us and induce some demand when it comes to that constraint. I am therefore in strong opposition to this bill.

This is a complete overstep of the provincial government on not allowing cities to determine their own infrastructure .

MPPs and all Ontarians should tell Dougie it's not the 1950s any more. And he's not the mayor of Toronto or any other city. Lire davantage

Cycling infrastructure is one of my top priorities as a voter. Please keep all existing bike lanes and add new lanes as much as possible, even if it means reducing vehicle lanes space.

Let local government find local solutions, Ontario should stay out of Torontos decision making.

I am writing to express concern regarding the proposed amendments under the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025, which restrict municipalities from reallocating road space for bicycle lanes. Lire davantage

I don't like Bill 60 for the following reasons: It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Lire davantage

Bill 60’s framework to ban bike lanes is another jurisdictional overreach from this government, on top of the already disastrous Bill 212. This attack on our roads will not achieve the desired goal of reducing gridlock. But it will make our streets more unsafe for everyone, including drivers. Lire davantage

As a daily cyclist and resident of downtown Toronto for over a decade, I strongly oppose this bill. For the following 5 reasons: 1. It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Lire davantage

As a regular cyclist in Toronto, bike lanes are a fundamental part of any city. They help ensure safety, when constructed property. They also are a crucial part of any climate change action. As has been extensively studied, they help alleviate gridlock and encourage community development.

I am 59 years old and I depend entirely on my bike to live my life in the city. I don’t own a car. I use my bike for everything — getting groceries, going to the doctor and dentist, visiting friends, and all my social activities. Lire davantage

My family owns and uses cars and bicycles in the City of Toronto. The Ontario government should stay out of local consultative politics. The current ratio of areas between car lanes should not be frozen to restrict sidewalks and bike lanes within our right-of-ways.

Despite what this government seems to think, the things that make a community great are not all car based. Banning bike lanes, and stripping municipalities of their authority to decide what’s best for their communities, is authoritarian and tone deaf. Lire davantage

I am thoroughly opposed to this bill. I routinely use bike lanes to get around the city as part of my work and to take my kids to swim practice and karate. It is faster and better than transit or driving. New bike lanes should be expanded, not banned.
