I strongly oppose this proposal in its current form. I am a physician working and living in a large urban centre in Ontario. I am both a driver and cyclist, and as someone who spends time both in a car and on a bike I think this proposal is an ineffective and - worse - harmful policy. Lire davantage

This is a massive government overreach. Why can't municipalities make decisions about infrastructure that primarily impacts their own residents? It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Lire davantage

These are statements from Cycle Toronto which I agree with 100%. Note: I rarely ride my bike. I drive a car and am a pedestrian. - It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Lire davantage

This is the time to take bold action to support environmentally friendly solutions for our cities and our transit. The climate crisis is upon us; it’s impacting our mental health and it’s the largest projected public health crisis. Why are we not investing in protecting cyclists and public transit? Prohibiting any reduction of lanes for bicycle lanes could mean that better alternatives to a current traffic flow cannot be considered. We can’t know what the future will bring nor what any municipality may want. We previously built roads without considering non-vehicle traffic. Lire davantage

I am shocked by bill 60! This bill goes against public interest and ignores evidence. It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. It threatens Lire davantage

This bill sucks… it’s proven that removal of bike lanes and bus priority lanes will cause more gridlock. Why is my government inadvertently proposing more traffic! What is the ulterior motive - is there any study disproving this?

The province needs to stop meddling in municipal affairs. If my city chooses to put in bike lanes, bus lanes or even restaurant patios on a city street, that is their choice. My option is to vote them out if I don't like it. Lire davantage

I do not want this bill to pass. It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. The city knows what is best for the city. It will make roads more dangerous. Lire davantage

Riding my bike to College & University is the quickest way for me to get to work in the morning (coming from west-end Toronto). It is also the quickest way for me to pick up groceries and run errands in my area. This bill does nothing to "fix traffic". Lire davantage

This bill is something I am firmly against. The wording and specifications of what the province dictates in road design is broad and ungrounded in the modern principle of road design. Lire davantage

The Ford Government seems intent on waging war on cyclists right to safety even when his own government's evidence shows removing bike lanes will only increase congestion. Not only is this illogical and expensive, it's mean spirited and frankly something Donald Trump would do. Lire davantage

This bill is counterintuitive and lacks logic. By giving more priority to cars and restricting infrastructure for other forms of transport, it pushes even more people to drive—creating the exact problem it claims to solve. Lire davantage

As someone who bikes regularly, I’m really disappointed to see the province stripping cities of the power to make their own transportation decisions. Local leaders and residents know their streets best — not Queen’s Park. Lire davantage

This is blatantly awful legislation that the Province already lost in court about due to the violation of a human rights charter with Bill 212! Why are they still trying to ram this through? Lire davantage

I'm writing to demonstrate my disgust with Bill 60, this bill ignores the large body of research and evidence based policy on what is needed to address traffic challenges in Ontario and shows this government's contempt for the lives and safety of Ontarians. Lire davantage

This proposal is nonsensical. It talks about air quality -- making cycling, walking, and public transit is the best way to improve air quality, not making driving more attractive and getting more cars on the road. Why are we wasting our tax dollars on this. Lire davantage

Hey guys, I live downtown (Annex) and I drive a car. The bike lanes improve car traffic and also help stop my kids from being run over by distracted drivers when they ride their bikes to school and work. Please allow this essential public service to continue to grow so others can be safe as well.

Completely unacceptable. Municipality should be allowed to allocate space on public roads as it sees fits. Local elected representatives should be held accountable for these decisions. Keep your fingers off my bike lanes Doug!
