I am writing in support of Toronto’s bike lanes because I am a 77 year old woman who rides a bike for errands and exercise. The current bike lanes, especially along Bloor, College, Adelaide, and Richmond streets are ones I frequently use. Lire davantage

This ill advised and non-sensical move must be stopped, it does the province, the people's health or the planet no good at all pursuing backwards policies such as this

This self defeating legislation only lead to more cars on more streets. More traffic. It will worsen traffic congestion, not reduce it. The government’s own experts have consistently said that bike lanes are not a cause of gridlock. Lire davantage

Bill 60 will increase traffic congestion rather than reducing it, and will increase accidents of all kinds involving vulnerable road users. This bill is so broad that it will not allow municipalities the authority and autonomy they deserve to implement what is best for their residents. Lire davantage

This proposed legislation blocking new bike lanes is a serious mistake. It takes away cities’ ability to make decisions about their own streets—even when those decisions are backed by solid evidence and strong local support. Lire davantage

This new policy is a major power grab, plain and simple. It completely shuts down local input and decision-making, even when city projects have solid evidence and strong support from residents. This top-down control is set to make our traffic problems worse, not better. Lire davantage

I am writing to share my opposition to Bill 60. As someone who walks, bikes, drives, and takes public transit to get around Toronto, I know the importance of having a variety of efficient transportation options. Bill 60 limits this variety by prioritizing car infrastructure. Lire davantage

An easy way to solve this without reducing car lanes is to make the car lanes narrower which would create space to make bicycle lanes . It would also have the added benefit of slowing down vehicle traffic.

This legislation seeks to strip cities of the ability to make decisions that matter to them. This legislation will not address traffic congestion, as the government's own experts have concluded. It is disingenuous legislation - not drafted in the broader public interest. Lire davantage

Why won't you back down on this. You want to ease congestion? Give people more viable options. You want to make gridlock worse? Get more cars on the road by eliminating alternatives. Lire davantage

The province should not be overriding the governance of the cities. This is a terrible idea and precedent.

Transportation is a core part of the day for most people. Getting to work, visiting friends, buying groceries, going to events, etc. If everyone uses a car for transportation, gridlock will continue to worsen. Lire davantage
