As a driver, I support bike lanes. I do not want to be responsible for harming or killing a cyclist. I don't see how removing bike lanes will ease congestion. All those food delivery ebikes will end up vying for the same space as cars. Invest more money in public transit to get cars off the road. Lire davantage

Attached is my written feedback on the Province’s proposed restrictions on bike lanes. I hope this submission helps inform a policy approach that supports safer streets, municipal autonomy, and practical transportation solutions. Lire davantage

I ride my bike to work nine months of the year. I rely on the presence and good repair of bike lanes to stay alive and get to work on time. As an Ontarian, do I not deserve this safety and freedom of movement? Do I not deserve the free choice of mode of travel? Lire davantage

Bike lanes are a public good, enabling people to cycle safely and without burning fossil fuels. I’d be shocked at the waste of money if this government tears out existing cycling infrastructure. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill 60, the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act. As a resident of the Greektown neighborhood in Toronto, my bicycle is my primary mode of transportation. I use it every day to commute to work and to support local businesses in my community. Stop Bill 60. It will put cyclists in danger which is more important than slowing down traffic. Bloor street is filled with bikes travelling across the city. Without a lane to ride in those people would be slowing traffic by riding in traffic and they would be at risk.

Volumes of evidence exists showing bike lanes don’t increase traffic congestion. More people choosing to drive because there are no other options drives traffic congestion. Lire davantage

This is not about being “pro-bike” or “anti-car”. It’s about evidence-based transportation planning and local democracy. And no matter how many times the Premier says it, the facts are: bike lanes do not cause traffic congestion. Lire davantage

I write to express vehement opposition to the proposed amendment to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) under Bill 60, which would bar municipalities from reducing vehicle traffic lanes when installing new bicycle lanes. Environmental Registry of Ontario Lire davantage

Blocking future production of bike lanes is a horrible vision for our city's future. Though biking creates problems and annoys car travellers, these are growing pains the city must go through to create alternative sustainable forms of transportation. Public health gains will be felt long term. Lire davantage

The provincial government needs to stop interfering with municipal issues. You are misleading the public by accusing bike lanes of causing congestion, but show no evidence to back that up. It's more often construction closures causing congestion. Lire davantage

Toronto, despite what this government thinks, is a biking city. I woke daily to work and already deal with a massive absence of bike lanes to get there. I have to deal with drivers who do not respect cyclists, do not share the road and consistently do not check mirrors. Lire davantage

This bill is a needless overreach of provincial authority into municipal decision-making. Cities and local governments should have the freedom to design streets that reflect their residents’ needs. Lire davantage

It is so depressing to see this blatant attempt at making our roads more unsafe and more congested. I'd love to bike more and drive less to do the local shopping trips. Lire davantage
